The SILCA Protocol RCG-4 is the mud, sand and loose-rock tire in the Protocol gravel line, bridging gravel racing and mixed trail riding while still rolling fast. Its aggressive tread uses fewer, larger and wider-spaced knobs than the RCG-3, so it sheds mud instead of clogging and bites into loose, off-camber terrain, singletrack and rough OHV roads. Protection is bead to bead: SealSkin covers the sidewalls as well as the tread for rough, rocky courses. It is built on a 120 TPI race casing designed for modern pressures, with SILCA's fastest Pulsar rubber-and-silica compound. CarbonBead BeadLock uses carbon fiber beads that will not stretch or creep, keeping a secure rim fit for life. This listing is the 700 x 45mm size: claimed weight 545g, recommended minimum sealant 90 ml of SILCA Ultimate Sealant. Do not install with a tire lever, which can damage the carbon bead.
