SILCA Protocol RCG-1 Gravel Tire - 700 x 45mm, Tubeless

The SILCA Protocol RCG-1 is the fast-gravel tire in the Protocol line, built for Category 1 and 2 courses like Gravel Worlds, SBT GRVL and Dust Bowl, and for mixed pavement-and-dirt rides. SILCA's goal was hardpack-slick rolling speed with the compliance of an XC race tire. The center uses a low, ramped directional tread to keep rolling resistance down, and elevated, elongated side knobs grab in loose, high-speed corners. It is built on a 120 TPI race casing with GhostShield protection, SILCA's ply-angle casing that resists punctures without a breaker layer, and uses the Pulsar compound, SILCA's fastest. CarbonBead BeadLock replaces Kevlar with carbon fiber beads that will not absorb moisture or stretch, so the tire keeps its shape and rim fit for life. In SILCA's lab testing the RCG-1 rolled at 25.8 watts, versus 27.0 W for the Schwalbe Thunder Burt and 29.6 W for the Continental Dubnital, and was 125g and 85g lighter per tire, respectively.
